Our study opens the less known political philosophy perspective up for discussion and claims that a novel should possess the ability to direct man towards the deep understanding of politics in order to be political. Although political fiction can be written from three perspectives as historicist, behavioral and political philosophy, the most known and common examples are the ones written with the historicist perspective. We read about man's political tragedies and dilemmas in the most aesthetic and open manner through political fiction. Political fiction genre, which emerged as a result of the meeting of political philosophy which envisions man as zoon politicon and literary imagination which tells stories about man, is one of the representations of social and political reality. Bu çalışma söz konusu bu ilişkiyi "büyülü gerçekçilik" sayesinde büyük bir ustalıkla ortaya koyan bir romancıyı, Portekizli yazar José Saramago'yu ve eserlerinin politik roman edebiyatı içindeki yerini konu edinmektedir. Böylelikle siyaset filozofunun yarattığı kavramları gölgelerin içinden çıkarıp, okur için görünür hale getirirler. Kurmacanın geniş olasıklıkları aracılığıyla eşsiz hikâyeler anlatan politik romanlar, bunu yaparken siyaset felsefesinin yarattığı kavramlar ile konuşurlar. Bu yeteneğin sadece siyaset felsefesi perspektifi ile mümkün olduğu düşünüldüğünde, politik romanların siyaset felsefesine tabi olması bir zorunluluk olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Çalışmamız, daha az bilinen siyaset felsefesi perspektifini tartışmaya açmakta, bir romanın politik olabilmesi için insanı siyasetin derin anlayışına yöneltme yeteneği taşıması gerektiğini iddia etmektedir. Politik romanlar, tarihselci, davranışçı ve siyaset felsefesi olarak üç perspektiften yazılabilmekle birlikte, en iyi ve yaygın bilinenleri tarihselci bakış açısı ile yazılanlardır. İnsanın siyasal trajedileri ve açmazlarını en estetik ve açık haliyle politik romanlar aracılığıyla okuruz. İnsanı zoon politikon olarak tahayyül eden siyaset felsefesi ile insana ilişkin hikâyeler anlatan edebî tahayyülün karşılaşmasıyla ortaya çıkan politik roman, toplumsal ve siyasal gerçeklik temsillerinden biridir.
